Marriage Proposal Tips |

1. “No” is not an option. Make sure your significant other is going to accept. This may seem like an obvious tip, but it is crucial to know in your heart that the both of you want to make the commitment. You can plan your marriage proposal to take place on the moon. However, unless your sweetheart wants to spend the rest of his or her life with you, all your hard work and planning will be for not. 2. Have your ducks in a row. Like an architect designing a building, the marriage proposal should have detailed blueprints. Ask yourself questions like: Do you have the ring? Do you have an idea of where you want to propose? Are there any details you would like included in the proposal? Are there others involved in the proposal? Have you picked a night and cleared it with your significant other? Leave out any of those details and you might be left holding the ring. 3. KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly). This is a nervous time for most people who are proposing. It is hard enough just getting that question out, much less, worrying about a lot of details, relying on others and making sure that a number of elements are timed perfectly. Less is definitely more. 4. It's all about (NOT) you. The marriage proposal is all about who is being asked. It really has nothing to do with who is doing the asking. If your potential fiancé is the shy type or has expressed to you in the past that a private proposal is his/her wishes, then, by all means, grant that wish. On the other hand, if he/she is "out there" and there is no limits, then, have fun and be creative. Either way, really personalize it and make it custom tailored for your significant other. 5. Smell the roses. The main thing to remember is to enjoy the entire process. By successfully planning and implementing a marriage proposal, the newly engaged couple will have an “heirloom” that can be passed down from generation to generation. A story so great, your grandchild might propose at the same destination as Grandpa and Grandma just to continue the tradition. |
